Anna Akana is an American YouTuber, actress, filmmaker, comedian, singer-songwriter, and author. Akana first started performing comedy on YouTube in 2011. She began creating both comedy and documentary-style videos, gaining notable popularity on the internet platform, with over 3.57M views and 2.79M subscribers on her channel. In 2011, Akana appeared in the TV series Awkward and again as an extra in Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" music video and has since been credited in a variety of film and television roles. Branching out from her very successful YouTube and acting career, in 2017, she published the book, So Much I Want to Tell You : Letters to My Little Sister, a candid and poignant collection of essays about love, loss, and chasing adulthood. She continues to act, but has since expanded her music career, releasing her first single, “Intervention” in 2019, and her first studio album, Casualty later that same year.
